Many years ago the club had a combat league. The aircraft used by the participants was the Bill kits Fun Fly 15. Although this was and excellent aircraft and could take plenty of knocks, we did loose a few too many and eventually the combat faded into obscurity.
Ian Scottow has been working on a new Combat trainer. This one is a SPAD based airframe.
After lots of testing and design changes he has now arrived at the MK4.

A bunch of us had a test fly of the prototype today (Me included). We all
agree that it flies very well.
When you consider that it is a heavy lump of plastic guttering and estate
agent's signs - it flies very well indeed!
Ian says that it costs around £10 for the basic materials. He also said that
he can build one in 4 hours.
The example shown here is powered by and MDS40. We would suggest that you should
use a 40 -46 sized engine,. if you want to build one for club combat use then
you will not be allowed anything larger than a 46.
Ian has supplied us with a word document of the plans (Click here to download)
