John marriage is the designer and instigator of our "Attack Sequence" scenarios.
In my opinion his finest hour had to be at RAF Halton during the International Model show of 1998.
He had rescued a cruiser from the remains of our own show that year and was a bit disappointed that the 'big' charge didn't detonate properly (theory being that this was a torpedo hitting the ship, taking the armoury with it).
He Came to Halton with his team and announced that he had done a bit more experimenting and it should work this time.
| The resultant explosion made some of the pilots duck, I
nearly dropped my transmitter and by more luck than judgment Alan Bristow
got a picture of it with my new digital camera! Unfortunately, the petrol used to make the fireball also set fire to the ship which burned a patch in the grass, so we haven't repeated that one since.. Well done John - I though it was brilliant.. |
